Loc repair · Vaudreuil-Dorion

You do not have
to start over.

Thinning roots, locs splitting in two, and locs that have come off entirely can almost always be repaired. One at a time, from $5 per loc. Bring the loc that fell out if you still have it.

$5 per loc  ·  Any day of the week  ·  $50 deposit

Before you cut them off

Most people are told
to start over too soon.

Starting over means giving up every year you have already put in. Sometimes that really is the answer. Far more often it is four locs that need an hour of careful work, and somebody did not want to spend the hour.

What I can fix

One loc at a time.

  • Thin, weak roots from retwisting too tight or too often
  • A loc splitting into two at the root
  • A loc that broke off or came out completely
  • Locs that have grown together and need separating
  • Frayed or unravelling ends
  • Thinning at the hairline, if it is caught early enough

Send me a photo when you book. I will tell you roughly what it will cost and how long it will take before you come in, and I will tell you if I think it is not worth repairing.

Prices

What it costs.

Loc repair $5 per loc

Charged per loc, so a small problem stays a small bill. Four locs is $20.

Loc reattachment, 1 to 5 locs $20

For locs that came off. Bring them with you if you kept them.

A $50 deposit books your spot and comes off your final price. It is not refundable and it does not move to another booking. If your repair comes to less than $50, the difference stays as credit toward your next retwist.

So it does not happen again

Four causes, in order
of how common they are.

Three of those four are things a stylist controls, not you.

Straight answers

Repair questions.

Is it worth repairing, or should I start over?

Almost always worth repairing. Send me a photo and I will give you a straight answer before you book, including if the answer is that starting over is genuinely the better call. I would rather lose the appointment than take your money for work that will not hold.

Can a loc that fell out be put back?

Usually yes, if you kept it. Bring it with you. If you did not keep it I can often rebuild the gap using the locs on either side.

How many can you fix in one appointment?

It depends how much work each one needs. Send a photo when you book and I will set aside the right amount of time rather than guessing.

Can you fix locs someone else did?

Yes. That is most of this work.

Will my hairline grow back?

Sometimes, if the thinning is recent and the tension stops now. Sometimes not. I am not going to promise you it will. What I can promise is that it will not get worse from anything I do.

Can I get a repair and a retwist in the same visit?

Yes, and it is usually the sensible way to do it. Mention it when you book so I leave time for both.

Bring them in.

Here is exactly what happens next.

  1. Text a photo to (514) 441-4257 so I can see the damage.
  2. I tell you what it will cost and how long it takes.
  3. Book the time I give you and pay the $50 deposit.
  4. Bring any locs that came off, if you kept them.

Photos first is genuinely better on this one. It is the only service where I cannot guess the price without seeing it.
